I am here to tell you that the reason that your business isn't where you want it to be. It is not because
you're stupid and it is not because you are bad at this. It is not because you are lazy or because you can't
reach your goals. It's not because of any of those things, no matter how much you tell yourself it is.
It is because you don't have the support you need to actually get the kind of branding and the kind of
messaging to your clients. It doesn't matter how lucky you are. It doesn’t matter that your goals are to
work with high level clients. You want to work with amazing people, and it won’t happen if you don't have
to speak to them.
If you don't have branding attracts them, then literally none of what you're doing is making any difference.
Sorry if that stings your ego or, but it’s true. If you have lackluster branding, you're not going to get high
level clients. It just simply isn't going to happen.
If you are speaking to the lowest common denominator you are not getting the highest level clients. You
need to know how to speak to the people you want to work with. If you don't know how to make your nice
photos or your nice videos or whatever you have work for you, your content might as well be on a hard
drive used as a paperweight. You absolutely need to know how to reach these people. You need to know
what to say to them and how to position yourself so that you're attracting only the exact clients you want,
not just whoever happens to be out there.
If that's what you're basing your business on, then you are so lost dearest and we need to get you back on
track. You need to have an ideal client. You need to know who you want to work with and what you want
to do with them. And you need to stick with talking to only them consistently, day after day until it works.
That's it, I literally just gave it to you. Go back and read it again. Let the truth sink in. It's not difficult. I
mean, it feels complicated, and is difficult for the ego to stick with it through the crickets—that's where
most people fail. They're like, Oh, well, I think I know who my ideal client is… but then, you know, somebody
wanted me to do this other thing. So I just kind of have to go with that to earn an income.. and then the
people on my Instagram they say they like this other thing so I'm just gonna go do a one off lesson…”
Okay, this is not pull your audience do whatever the fuck they want Story Hour. This is you going after your
dreams and what you want to build. If you are building your own business shouldn't it be something you
like that works with your life? Then why are you spinning in circles trying to catch everyone? You're
working in a job building someone else's dream and find it doesn't align with you and abandon the work or
mail it in with resentment wondering where your high level clients are.
Why aren’t you hiring the help you need to actually freaking make it? You say it's your huge dream. I hear
people talk endlessly about their business and how it's so important to them. When I ask them how much
they’ve invested in their business they answer “nothing” or point me to a trail of $20 masterclasses. So I
ask: “how much did you invest in your hair, your nails, and your Botox this month?”
Oh, like a grand? Okay cool, now we know what’s important to you. It's fine to spend all the money on your
hair, your nails, and Botox. There’s no shame in living the life you want. But listen, if you want your
business to work, put your money where your mouth is hire someone who knows what the fuck they're
talking about and actually do what they say and if not, don't fucking complain about it.
Don't show up and say, “it's easier for everyone else and my my problems are so special that that's why it's
not working”—fucking stop. I literally grew up religious and had to come out. I lost so many of my friends
and family. I had to completely rewrite my family and what it looked like for me. I got fucking divorced. I
just had to start an entirely different career, and I'm still doing it.
If you have better excuses than that sweet, show me. I could be wallowing in the pit of despair right
now—and it would be a valid emotional response! There are times that I have. Last year was very, very,
very difficult for me. But I decided to stand up, put on my big girl panties, and then just do it. I hired
someone who knew more than me about business and how to make it and I show up every day no matter
what. Even if it sucks. Even when I’m insecure, tired, grieving, sick, stressed, you name it.
I have things in place so that if I'm having a hard day, I've got content ready, because I will not give up
speaking to my ideal client until every single one of them is booked with me long term for the best
package and I'm not fucking stopping. I'm not. This is why when people show up in my world, and they've
never heard of me before, they scroll through my Instagram for 10 minutes. They know who I am. They
know who I work with. They know what I offer and they know what level I do that at. It's immediate.
Somebody sends me a DM or a comment “send me the link.”
I don't have to further convince them because every single day I show up exactly like this. Not wavering.
I'm not being like, oh, we'll just like to do a little bit of this for everyone. What I do isn’t for everyone. It just
isn't. It's for the high level of VIP badass people who want to make a difference. That's who I work with,
who do you work with? And if you're not working with them, then why?
Maybe they haven't come in yet. Don’t waste your time talking to other people if your ideal clients haven't
showed up yet. Keep talking to them until they come in with you. Keep making messaging for them. Keep
making content for them—exactly and only them—until they show up. Don't water it down for the masses
because your perfect ideal client hasn't walked in the door to throw money in your face.
Like come on guys. It is not complicated but it is not easy. And there are millions and millions of life
circumstances. But if you're serious about growing your business and you're sick of your excuses, you
have got to hire someone to help you.
I am one of those people.
